Town Forms and Permit Applications
The Town of McClellanville now offers a fully online permit portal for all planning and zoning applications, land disturbance/tree removal permits, and building permits. All applications must be submitted through the Community Core Portal using the links provided below.
To begin, applicants will need to Create an Account in Community Core. Once logged in, users can select the appropriate permit type and complete the required application and document uploads directly through the portal.
All permits are processed through SAFEbuilt and submitted online via Community Core, providing a streamlined and efficient review process.

How to Apply for Permits Online
- Access the Community Core Portal
Use the permit portal links provided to begin your application.
- Create Your Account
Select “Sign Up” and enter your contact information. You must have an account to submit any zoning, planning, tree, or building permit.
- Log In to Your Dashboard
After creating your account, log in to view available permit types and begin a new application.
- Choose the Correct Permit Type
Select the appropriate application:
- Planning & Zoning
- Land Disturbance/Tree Removal
- Building Permits
- Complete the Application Form
Fill out all required fields and upload any supporting documents, such as site plans, drawings, or photos.
- Submit Your Application
Once complete, submit your application through the portal. You will receive confirmation that your materials were successfully uploaded.
- Payment
Once an application is reviewed and accepted, a permit invoice will be created and emailed to the applicant. Payments can be made securely online through the link provided in the billing email.
- Track Your Application Status
Your Community Core dashboard allows you to monitor review progress, respond to comments, and upload additional documents if requested.
