Water & Sewage

The Town does not have public water or sewage. All homes and businesses in the Town and nearby area have wells and septic tanks. The Town does provide water testing kits that you can use to analyze your well water. The sample will need to be delivered to SCDHEC on the same day it is taken and there is a charge for results.

Waste Management

The Town contracts for household waste removal for residents. The contract calls for curbside collection of bagged household waste twice a week, currently Mondays and Thursdays.

McClellanville has two public elementary and middle schools.

Currently all high school students from McClellanville attend Wando High School in North Mount Pleasant SC.

Boat Landing Information

The Town owns and maintains a boat landing at 405 Pinckney Street. A permit is required to launch any type of watercraft from the landing.

Health Facilities

Residents have access to the St. James-Santee Family Health Center located on Tibwin Road. The center employs Board Certified Physicians and offers the following service: Adult Care, Pediatric care, Immunizations, Prenatal Care, Laboratory, Family Planning, X-ray, Cervical Cancer Screening, Breast Cancer Screening, Emergency On-Call Services, Pharmacy, and Dental.

Roper St. Francis Mount Pleasant Hospital is located on Highway 17 in North Mount Pleasant.

These facilities are connected to EMS and police through the county 911 dispatch center.

Reporting Maintenance Needs

To report or request  catch basin issues, mowing or vegetation issues, sidewalk damage, tree removal, traffic signal issues, or paved road repair requests please use the SCDOT Maintenance Request Form.
