Weather in South Carolina can be unpredictable and change course at a moments notice. With colder temperatures settling in and some speculation about rain and snow this coming weekend, now is a great time to prepare.
Download the Dominion Energy App. Report outages and stay connected with your mobile device. You can also pay your bill or check your energy usage. Its quick, easy and all within a single experience.
Think ahead. Take some time to review your family’s plans in the event of an outage. Use these lists to help ensure you have what you need BEFORE you need it. Make sure your emergency kit is fully stocked with flashlights, batteries, portable radio, first aid kit, bottled water and non-perishable food. Don’t forget about medications and any backup plans to maintain medical equipment.
Beware of downed power lines and DO NOT touch for any reason keeping a 30-foot distance at all times. Keep in mind that downed power lines may not be visible and use extra caution when walking outside. Assume they are energized and dangerous. To report, call 888-333-4465.
Understand the impact of icy winter weather on your natural gas equipment. Build-up of snow and ice might create operational problems for natural gas equipment and appliances. If you suspect a gas leak, leave the area immediately. From a safe place, call 911 and then contact us at 800-815-0083.
