McClellanville Architectural Review Board Meeting September 21, 2021

The purpose of the McClellanville Architectural Review Board is to ensure that the historic integrity of significant or contributing properties is preserved so that the integrity of the village’s historic character is not compromised.

  1. Consideration of meeting minutes from August 17, 2021.
  2. This application is for revisions to house plans submitted on April 20, 2021 meeting.  The property is at 143 Liberty Street and is in the Historic District.The following revisions are:   (Attachment)
    • Front porch no longer extends the width of the front elevation
    • Roof material is changing from metal to asphalt shingle
    • Roof pitch changed from 16:2 to a 15:2
    • Garage doors changed from 7’ wide to 8’ wide
    • Louvered panels are not breakaway
    • Larger door going to master sun deck
  3. DRB consideration of Home Telecom.  This application is for consideration of a small electronic cabinet to provide broadband to the area. Cabinet is 48”(H) x 25”(W) x 57” (L). The property is at 10117 Highway 17 N and is in the Highway Commercial District. (Attachment)
  4. ARB consideration of Troy and Ashley Meeks.  The property is at 316 Dupre Road and is in the Historic District. This application is for consideration to: (Attachment)
    • Raise existing home 1-2 feet above base flood elevation on block piers wrapped in brick with 1 x 4 louvered boards in between the brick columns
    • Add 2’ of width to the screen porch on the left elevation
    • Add front porch and stairs
    • Removed the non-permitted, 9.5’ x 14’ block room on rear of home, replacing it with a 9.5’ x 37.33’ room. All will be within allowable footprint and setbacks
    • Add rear stairs
    • Remove shingled roof and replace with metal
